lyrics

Autumn empty leaves brush a burnt canvas.
Sky-blue grass lines the red holes still below.
Hills farm themselves into ritual curves.
The wind's transgressions try not to reach me.
And I see you walking...I see us walk,
choosing not to keep pace but to be caught
in the fabrics of memory dislodged;
misremembered beliefs guide our futures
and tie them to an innocent grenade.
Feeding me from a tree of knowledge cut,
the sour fruits my oxygen, coursing.
We don't visit each other in our dreams
'cause we can't go too far to come back.
